Hi there,

I like to run MongoDB on my Synology NAS. Has anyone experience in compiling MongoDB on Synology?
The environment is a 32bit ARM processor: MARVELL Armada XP MV78230

Hi -

While MongoDB does support ARM, it only supports 64-bit ARM (ARMv8, aarch64, etc.). Of the two storage engines that we offer, WiredTiger is explicitly 64-bit only, and MMAPv1 can only support 1GB of data in a 32-bit address space due to its use of mmap, rendering it more or less non-viable. Given these restrictions, we have stopped doing any build or test on 32-bit systems, regardless of CPU architecture.

That said, I'm curious. Why do you want to run MongoDB on this NAS device?

Thanks,
Andrew
