MongoDB 3.0 replica set delayed member warning message - query

As part of a MongoDB 3.0.6 replica set we have setup a delayed secondary that is behind by a configured value of 1800 seconds (0.5 hour) 

A periodic review of the MongoDB log shows multiple instance of the following warning message on the delayed secondary member

[rsSync] replSet slavedelay causing a long sleep of 299 seconds

Is this expected behaviour from the secondary member?

Hi David,

Yes, this is expected behaviour for a delayed secondary.

This is just an informational message noting that the sync thread is sleeping for longer than 60s at a stretch:
