MonBike Club,

May I have your permission to sign and submit the Federal Trails, Walking and Biking Support Letter on behalf of the Monongalia Bicycle Club?

If I receive no negative replies to this message by the December 22 submission, I will submit it then.

Hi Frank,

Federal funding for bike trails and safe streets is under threat. We need you to sign a support letter by December 22.

Adventure Cycling Association is supporting a coordinated national effort led by our partners at Rails to Trails Conservancy, alongside the American Hiking Society, American Trails, the League of American Bicyclists, PeopleForBikes, and the Safe Routes to School Partnership, to protect the Transportation Alternatives (TA) program and related active transportation funding.

Why This Matters

Since 1991, TA has funded more than 42,500 miles of multiuse trails and thousands of roadway projects that make it safer to walk, bike, and roll nationwide. But it's not enough on its own. We must also preserve eligibility for trails, walking, and bicycling infrastructure across all federal formula and discretionary grant programs.

We encourage national, state, and local advocacy organizations, local elected officials, businesses, and cyclists to sign on, urging Congress to preserve the Transportation Alternatives program, safety provisions for vulnerable road users, and broad eligibility across federal programs by December 22.

If you would like to learn more about the Transportation Alternatives program and the work being done to protect it, additional information and resources are available from Rails to Trails Conservancy here: America’s Trails Are Under Fire

Together for safer bike travel,

Adventure Cycling Association
Adventure Cycling inspires, empowers, and connects people to travel by bicycle.
