RPM Maven Plugin Doubt

Hi

I'm having the following issue,

I install an rpm version 1 that puts 2 files to a certain path:
/path/file1.xml
/path/file2.xml

Then I updated the rpm to a new version that is suposed to put 2 more files to that path and installed it 
/path/file1.xml
/path/file2.xml
/path/file1.xml.new
/path/file2.xml.new

But what hapens is that I dont get 4 files there, I get only the 2 new ones
/path/file1.xml.new
/path/file2.xml.new

Is this suposed to happen or I am doing something wrong ?

Yes, since the upgrade uninstalls the first version.
