Dear students,

If you're a PhD student working with MODFLOW or groundwater models, you know how painful the documentation can get: model setup, methodology, sensitivity analysis, results, discussion.

Most of us spend weeks perfecting simulations, then scramble to write structured reports or thesis chapters under pressure.

I built Draftyn to help with that. It’s an AI-powered tool that generates clean, technical documents: simulation summaries, research reports, proposals — based on your inputs.

It won’t write your thesis, but it will give you a structured draft so you’re not starting from scratch every time.

Try it here: draftyn.com

It is a good development. However, a background note would have made more sense.

Dear Dr. Dandekar,

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate your suggestion for a more detailed explanation of how to use Draftyn.

Draftyn is primarily designed for desktop use, and there is also a demo video available on the website that walks through the process. The steps for generating a document are quite straightforward:

1. Log in to your account.
2. In the chatbox, simply enter the type of document you wish to generate (e.g., "simulation summary," "research report," "proposal").
3. Click the "Generate" button to produce your document.

We designed it to be as intuitive as possible, and these three steps are all that is required to get a structured draft.

Regards,
Jagadeesh
