Hi,

I've noticed some ad blockers block the beacon.

One example is uBlock Origin by gorhill (for Chrome):

I was wondering if you were aware of this?

We were not aware of the issue with Ad Blockers in particular, but we also do not need all the beacons to get back to the site for them to operate correctly.

Of course if everyone installs this particular Ad Blocker, then beacons will no longer reach the server, and that will disable some of the optimizations done by PageSpeed (e.g. prioritize_critical_css, inlining images above the fold, and lazyloading images below the fold), until we can incorporate and deploy a server-side rendering mechanism, such as PhantomJS.

The EasyPrivacy list contains a rule:

_beacon?

Which matches our /mod_pagespeed_beacon?... requests.

I'll report this to the EasyPrivacy maintainers and see if they're
willing to whitelist us.
