Is there a way using the .net client to have it respect the system proxy settings for http requests?

Are you talking about Couchbase Lite for .NET, or the .NET client for the server product?

Couchbase Lite for .NET

I want to set the http proxy on iPhone / Android have them use the device's system proxy.

For iOS and Android, we’d most likely need to take a dependency on Paul Bett’s ModernHTTPClient http://components.xamarin.com/view/modernhttpclient.

We'll take a look at it.

You can look at our HttpClientFactory to see how we currently construct our HttpClients. Since we build a handler pipeline, we'll need to see how we'd manage the handler lifecycle, etc.
