Hello!

So, I had to deactivate some cards because I didn't need them for an exam, and when I tried to activate them again, there was an error message. I uninstalled Mnemosyne countless times in hope that it would work again, but it didn't resolve the problem. With that, all the cards were gone too, so I tried to import them the very same way I always did before - importing them from a tab-separated Text-file. But then, another error-message.
I am learning Japanese with Mnemosyne, so maybe the Kanji are the problem, but there was no problem before at all. And adding over two thousand cards manually is not something I have the time to do.

Could anyone help me please? Both of the error messages are attached, in the order of mentioning.

Regards, Fiona

Hi,

Can you try with this version and see if the problems are solved?

I doubt that the cards are gone from your database. Feel free to mail me your default.db file privately so that I can have a look.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Fiona,

the recent release of Mnemosyne seems to be buggy. Try the prerelease version of Mnemosyne. I've had a similar problem too, but when I use the prerelease version, I can import and export cards like before. The syncing with my cell phone still doesn't work.

Or else, if you want to have your previous working version of Mnemosyne, you can download it from Sourceforge. Make sure to  uninstall Mnemosyne from your PC and cell phone before you install the old version (uninstalling will not delete your data, don't worry!).

https://sourceforge.net/projects/mnemosyne-proj/files/mnemosyne/

Before you try the above, search for the backups Mnemosyne automatically creates. Just search for a folder called Mnemosyne, which contains the file "default.db" (I don't remember the exact location). If this folder exists either on your phone or PC you should be able to restore your cards and statistics.

Good luck!

Greetings,

Abakus

Make sure you use the latest version from Google Play, and please create a separate thread on this with the exact error message.

I’m very happy to try and fix all of people’s bugs, but I need your feedback of course. Just hoping that an issue will magically solve itself is not the most efficient way J

Cheers,

Peter
