I have lots of space on my SD card, and I absolutely DO NOT WANT to run as synced with my laptop that stays at home.  How do I do a REAL import of cards to the Android version?

Hi,

I’m not exactly sure what difference you think there is between real import / syncing. After syncing, your phone has a full copy of the database of your laptop.

However, note that you cannot add cards or edit cards on your phone, so you have to sync with your laptop.

Is there any reason you would not want to sync?

Kind regards,

Peter

The description of syncing sounded like running remotely.  Does the server need to be running only for syncing or does it need to be running while you are active on your phone?  Can I sync and then run on my phone independently?

Also, can I have alternate files on my phone, or is the phone restricted to one DB?
Thanks
P

The server only needs to run while syncing.

Cheers,

Just one DB, which is why it’s recommended to put all your cards in a single DB and work with ‘saved sets’ instead.

You can join several DBs in the desktop, by choosing file – import – db format.

Peter
