Cannot Import Text Files

Hello,
I'm working on debian wheezy and have installed the latest 2.2 version of mnemosyne.
I have exported flashcards from quizlet and saved them as a text file on debian. However, when I go to the menu to "import" and select "tab-separated text file," the file is not recognized at all. It's not even grayed out; it just isn't present when I browse that directory. Is this a bug, or is this a problem at my end? Any suggestions? The file is encoded in utf-8, is a text file by debian, and is definitely formatted correctly.

Hello, I'm not familiar with debian so I might be mistaken, but are you absolutely sure the file name has the .txt extension?
