Hi,

1) Let's say I've generated a tab-delimited text file to import it to Mnemosyne and that I have a set of audio files with pronunciation. How can I import pronunciation? Should I use <audio /> tags in the text file? Where should the sound files be located?

2) I would like to have sound play options. At least turning automatic pronunciation on/off.

Kind regards,
Pavel

Hi,

1) Yes, you need the html tags. The path is relative to your default.db_media directly. To get a feeling for how it works, just add some audio through Mnemosyne itself, and you will see that your audio gets copied to that directory.

2) You can use Window's mixer to mute the sound of the app if you wish.

Cheers,

Peter

Thanks, Peter!

I am working in Windows 7, it may be useful for other people to know the path to the sound files:
c:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Roaming\Mnemosyne\default.db_media\

As for muting the sound.. I don't want to mute the sound completely, I would like to be able to play the pronunciation with a button/shortkey (like pressing CTRL+R now), not automatically when the Answer button is pressed.

Kind regards,
Pavel

Hi,

A while ago, we had such a feature based on html5, but it didn't work very reliable at the time, so we had to turn it off. Perhaps with the latest updates, it's time to reinvestigate this.

Cheers,

Peter

I would appreciate having an option to turn on or off automatic sound play.

In any case, make a suggestion on our uservoice forum, so that other people can vote for it, so that I get a feeling for how popular this request is.

Cheers,

Peter
