Hello,

Is there an alternative to Syncing phone App via Sync Server?
Maybe copying default.db or some other files directly to the phone, into the mnemosyne folder?

Best regards,
Mirko

Hi,

As I mentioned to you on Google Play, you can indeed just copy
default.db over if you want. On the phone, it's in /sdcard/Mnemosyne.

Still, if you want to try and get the syncing to work, a few tips:
- make sure you are using the latest version of Mnemosyne, both on the
desktop and on the phone
- start from an empty /sdcard/Mnemosyne on the phone to make sure your
previous attempts don't mess things up.
- make sure your phone does not go into sleep during the syncing.

If you still get an error, what exactly is the error message you get?

Hello Peter,

Thanks for the info.
I am using latest versions of both phone App and the desktop app (Mac and  Windows version).
App is freshly installed, never been synced before
Phone is active (Xiaomi and Samsung)
Desktop can ping the phone. Occasional packet drops out, but address is reachable
Firewall and Antivirus were down

Error was either
- Socket error Errno 110: Connection timed out (After a longer period of triynfg to connect)
Socket error Errno 111: Connection refused (immediatelly after sync was attepmted)

Mirko

Hmm, since it occurs with different devices, I would expect something strange with your router. Perhaps it blocks Mnemosyne's ports?

Anyway, you can always manually copy the database if that's what you want.

Hi Mirco,

with W* it helped on my pc not only to _DE_activate Firewall and Antivirus, in both systems it was necessary to define "mnemosyne" as allowed process.

perhaps it's still so ...
