Wrong answer displaying

Hi I am new to this software,

I'm getting this issue where about 10% of the time, any card will display the wrong answer when I press "show answer". Has anyone experienced something like this? I assume I should just reinstall.

That's really strange... Is it the answer from the card you just saw before, or a completely random one? 

In any case, make sure to use the latest version from our website.

Hey Peter,

I uninstalled and reinstalled the most current version and things seem to be working now. 

For the recorded, it was showing either the answer for the previous or the next card. (I don't remember if it was the previous or the next card specifically or if it was both at times, but it definitely wasn't random.)

Hey Peter,

Sorry to keep bothering you about this. Its happening again today haha. I added some new cards and it appears that I am getting the same issue as before. It seems to be giving random answers for the wrong questions. It was fine yesterday until I added cards. I downloaded another set of cards from the website to see if it was an error with my card set and I started getting the same issue. Let me know what you think I can do to solve this.

Hi,

I tried with your database, but I don't see anything wrong. After hitting "Show Answer", I press "Edit card" to verify that the question and answer are the ones corresponding to that card, and every time it works fine.

Frankly, I'm at a loss here. If you see the answer from the previous or next card, then perhaps there's a graphics issue on your system that the window does not update correctly. But if you say that the answers are completely random, I have no way of explaining it...

Hey Peter,

This should be my last message on this thread. I started using the software this morning and things seem to be working today. It seems that when I add new cards, the software stops working correctly for about 24 to 30 hours? Everything start working after that I guess. I'm not sure why haha, seems like an interesting issue to have. shouldn't be a problem now that I understand how to work around this.

Do you mean you let the software running all that time? If so, does closing and opening the software help?

I don't let the software run all the time. Opening and closing the software doesn't seem to do anything when the issue is occurring. Only after I wait a day after making new cards do things seem to work correctly. This happens regardless of how often I open or close the software.

This must be one of weirdest bugs ever reported... Since I can't reproduce this, it will be extremely difficult for me to do something about this, I'm afraid...

Hey Peter, so the issue started happening again (without adding any new cards btw). but I have more information about it issue that might help. 

So with more investigation, It seems to be showing the previous answer (not random as I thought. This initial false claim was just due to my poor observation skills). second, If the wrong answer appears, If I click the text as to highlight it. It switches to the correct answer. so it does seem like a graphics thing? I'll attach a short video of this being demonstrated. As you can see, the answer displayed for the "Play soccer" card was correct 踢足球. but then the answer is repeated for the next card which was "to want". 

Also, It appears that the issue has nothing to do with adding cards. I assume I was projecting a pattern that didn't really exist.

Also, the same issue can happen where it displays the wrong question rather than the wrong answer. In this case, if I click the edit card button, It shows me the card the corresponds to the answer. Also, if I click on the question, it changes to the correct one. essentially, the issue where it shows the previous card data can affect both the question and the answer, and are both fixed by clicked the incorrect data.

Hi,

My graphics drivers, seem to be up to date. another thing that I discovered which is interesting. The error only occurs when my mnemosyne window is maximized. if I make the window smaller, It doesn't have that issue at all.

I'm afraid that's about the only thing I can try from my end, as the issue is not with Mnemosyne itself, but with the libraries it uses...
