I have a raspberry pi with Mnemosyne installed. I'm running it headless to use as a sync server between my devices.
I'm trying to connect with my sync server from my phone, but I get this "Logging in: server error." message every time I try.

Does anyone know if the Android app can handle HTTPS? Because the raspberry pi is running behind Cloudflare tunnel, so the connection is secured.

I don't think https is supported, sorry...

Thanks for the reply. I really needed this feature to sync my devices, so I've been working over the past few months on adding HTTPS support myself. I can see now why it was never implemented... if I'd known it was going to be this difficult, I probably never would have tried. But here we are! I've managed to get HTTPS support working on both my Android devices and my desktop client. Here's a pull request with my changes, in case you'd like to merge it into the main project: https://github.com/mnemosyne-proj/mnemosyne/pull/308

That's a lot of work, thank you very much!

Since I don't even have an Android develop environment setup and no longer work on Mnemosyne, I was wondering whether you'd be willing to take over the project?

I'd be happy to take over the project. I'm already actively working on it in my own fork, so it would make sense to continue that work upstream.

Just let me know what steps you'd like to take to hand things over, and I'll be glad to coordinate whenever it's convenient for you.

And thanks for all your work on Mnemosyne! It's an amazing piece of software.

Thanks to both of you.

Since Peter has indicated that he will be retiring from Mnemosyne support, I have been wondering how I should deal with the eventual demise of Mnemosyne.  It is comforting to have someone else willing to step up and volunteer to manage the continued support of a great software tool.

Thanks a lot for your offer of taking over the project, much appreciated!

I tried to transfer the github repository, but I got this error
message: 'ljfp/mnemosyne already exists'. So I guess you need to
rename it, and then I can try again.

Could you also privately send me your account details for pypi and
google play, so that I can transfer these as well?

Meanwhile, you should have manager access for this Google Groups. I
tried to make you manager of mnemosyne-proj-announce, but you're not a
member of that group.

And then finally, you'll need to make an account on our website where
we'll grant you edit access.

Cheers,

Peter
