syncing problem

I'd like to use Mnemosyne on a laptop I've got in Japan but, if I've understood correctly, my computer in the UK (the designated server) would have to be on at the same time in order for me to sync. Is there some way I can just put my cards on a flash drive or something and then transfer them to the laptop in Japan when I get there?

Sure, if you only want to do this transfer once or twice, you can just copy the Mnemosyne data directory, typically c:/users/iwloffice/appdata/roaming/Mnemosyne.
