I installed MiKTeX and then downloaded Mnemosyne. When I write something like <$>x^2<$>, it doesn't get converted to anything it just stays like that.

QUESTION: Do I need to do anything else besides downloading MiKTeX and Mnemosyne. Do I need to somehow activate it or is it supposed to work automatically? What can I do if it's not working?

Hi,

You need to make sure miktex is properly installed so that if you open a terminal window and type 'latex' it finds the executable.

You can also have a look at latex_out.txt and tmp.log in a directory like C:\users\artus\appdata\roaming\Mnemosyne\default.db_media\_latex
to see if that gives useful information.

Cheers,

Peter
