I wanted to check if my backup was working so I installed Mnemosyne on a different matching and imported my backup. Everything seemed to work right, except I had no pictures.

Hi,

Did you only back up your database (default.db) but not the media directory (default.db_media)?

Another explanation is that you manually used absolute paths to media files (i.e. files outside of default.db_media). In that case, they also need to be copied down from their old location.

Cheers,

Peter

I just followed the route given on the website and copied my entire mnemosyne folder over.  That had in it archive, backups, default.db_media, history, plugins and then some other things like config, etc. I am not very computer savvy, so maybe when I transferred it over, I missed something. Does this sound like I did the backup right? I just want to make sure I know my information is backed up. Thanks so much.

If you copied the entire folder over, and if you see the pictures when you try it on a different machine, then everything is fine J
