Delete the file config in your mnemosyne data directory. Now that you've upgraded to the latest version, the error won't reoccur.

I upgraded when this release was announced on this list, so the error
is happening in the current version 2.2.1. It's supposed to never
happen, but it's happening anyway.

Good to know! Does the fix work? Is this on a USB key which was perhaps
removed prematurely?

It's a hard drive installation on Windows Vista. I already knew how to
fix it from times this problem arose on previous versions. I'm just
reporting the problem.

OK, I'll see if there is more I can do to fix this, but I thought I did
already take all the precautions to make sure the file is cleanly closed...

Might be a Vista-specific bug.

Hi Peter,
i have this same error showing each time i want to assess mnemosyne 2.2.1. am using windows 8. This happened before and you asked me to delete my config file. i did and it was working perfectly again. now am having the same problem with the dialog showing as attached above. Kindly tell me what to do.

Just delete config again . This will be fixed in the next version.
