Videos on android

[Gnome]

I'm having problems viewing an mp4 video inserted into a front-to-back card.

When the card shows on android only a image of a play button is shown. 

When in windows and the card is the first to be showed nothing happens.

What video format is the best to use? 

Also I see the option to insert flash, unfortunately that product is discontinued.
