Hi,

I downloaded the 2.7.1 mnemosyne package from the website and managed to install it. However when I want to start it in the command line, I get the following message, without the software starting:

$ mnemosyne
Warning: Could not import OpenGL. Might cause a black screen on some Linux distributions. Try installing python3-opengl in that case.
[1:1:0100/000000.427830:ERROR:broker_posix.cc(41)] Invalid node channel message
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I already installed the python3-opengl package, as well as python3-pyqt5.qtopengl.

Can anybody help me out with this (OpenGL) error/problem?

Best

Hi,

There have been reports in the past that the open-source Nvidia driver could cause crashes on Ubuntu.

Cheers,

Peter

I'm sorry Peter, but you're really not helping out a lot here, are you?!

I found the solution to this problem:

Install python packages PyOpenGL via:

pip install PyOpenGL PyOpenGL_accelerate

maybe you need to replace pip with pip3, the packages should be installed in your python3.x version!

Feel free to ask for a refund 😊
