driver problems?

I'm a new user, creating cards to study Lebanese Arabic. Just downloaded version 2.3 for Mac. Running OSX 10.92.

Whenever I click on "browse" I get a message "Database error. Driver not loaded. Driver not loaded." Then Mnemosyne closes.

What is this? Am I supposed to have a driver. I think I saw a similar query in the forum, and the recommendation was to re-download, and make sure one had the newest version. So I did - my previous version was 2.18 or something. Exact same problem with 2.3.

What's up?

Also every time I open it I get a tip. If I click on the button to not show tips, nothing happens, same if I click on the button to close the tip. (If I click on the red dot in the upper right, the tip window does close.) Any way to stop seeing tips?

I have read the documentation, didn't find any answers to the driver problem.

I hope someone can help!

There is a problem with the 2.3 mac installer, which Patrick is working on. The previous version (2.2.1) should work, though.

Thank, Peter! How can I find 2.2.1? When I google it, I get 2.3

Also I had an earlier version before 2.3 - maybe 2.18? I had the exact same error in that version.

I thought you were suggesting I should use version 2.2.1, as there was a problem with 2.3, weren't you?  What you just posted is still a link to version 2.3 - at any rate, when I click on it what I see is:

The current version of Mnemosyne is 2.3. For a list of what's new in each release, see the this page.

It's version 2.3 that is giving me the errors.  As did the earlier version that I initially downloaded. 

What is the nature of the error in the Mac installer?  Would that be causing the software to crash if you try to browse through the cards?

Note: the OS X client is still at 2.2.1 while we sort out some packaging
issues.

The OSX link also links to the 2.2.1 release.

Ah, thanks!  I just downloaded 2.2.1, and am running it.  When I first ran it, I got an error "Unable to load file: database version mismatch," but the browse function works and the cards I previously created are actually there!  So can I just ignore the error about not being able to load the database?
