Problem entering card data with ALT characters

I have noticed that when one is adding a new flashcard, and one has already entered some information in the first field (front or back) and then tries to enter certain alt characters in the second field, the card is suddenly closed and marked with a grade 5. The alt character one has tried to enter appears in a brand new card!

Specific example:
1. Add new card
2. Enter "test" on front
3. Enter "« test »" (alt+174, alt+175) on back

The card gets closed the moment one has hit the alt+..5 key and a new card is created with just the "»" symbol.

This is not handled directly by Mnemosyne, so I'm afraid this is a bug in the GUI library we use (Qt). Hopefully a next version of this library will fix this.
