Addition in a grid question

Hi all, 

I'm trying to create a grid question where participants have to input numbers that add up to 100. I can see from the documentation that there is a way to have a correctAnswer as validation. But how do I sum across responses in a grid?

Hi Yoav, 

Thank you for following up! We are trying to replicate a question that we used previously on Qualtrics that looks like the one below. I assume we have to use the textNumber question type. I also know there is a way to have a correctAnswer for validation (so that the "Total" row has to equal 100). We just don't know how to program it so that the 'total' row is automatically filled in with the sum of the previous rows. Does that make sense?  Maybe a grid is not the best way to approach this.

Like you, I couldn't make sense of the documentation. Could you please say more about what exactly you have in mind? Why do you want to use a grid? Will there be a few different questions on the same page, all using the same columns? What will need to add up to 100? Each column in the grid, each row? Were you planning to use the "input" type in the grid question?

I did not find a way to dynamically show the total number of allocated points in Minno's questionnaire.

Here is an example with validation but without showing the total.
