Hi,

I'm trying to boot Minix 3 on native hardware using the USB image given in (http://download.minix3.org/iso/). It is pretty old but I guess it's the closest Minix have to boot from USB. However the boot process gets stuck at some point and doesn't move forward ( https://photos.app.goo.gl/RZtmSBdJrYpsmSBdA ).

My goal is to boot Minix 3 on a Intel i7-NUC which doesn't have any native CD-ROM support.

The only other alternative I so far managed to find is to boot it using QEMU and then copy the virtual hard disk to the physical hard disk. Not ideal, but is this the only way to boot MINIX 3 on a PC without a CD ROM ?

Thank you in advance.
Any help is appreciated.

I haven't tried booting Minix on native hardware, used QEMU/KVM some time back and had to fix networking to work properly as described here: https://markfaction.wordpress.com/2016/06/12/installing-minix-3-on-qemukvm-with-networking/

I don't think I answered your question, but hopefully provided some information that would nudge you in the right direction.

Regards,
Mark
