MCreator Help

I am learning MCreator to familiarize myself with making mods as I have a few ideas for physics/math blocks.

I am using MCreator 1.5.6 on a MacBook Air and I added the mod to the minecraft and server mod folders.

The mod includes a single block.  

Unfortunately, when I add the mod, the server won't start - MCEDU just quits.  I tried exporting as both a zip and a jar file. Same behavior.  I tried removing the mod and restarting without any mods and the server and client work fine.

Any suggestions?

I don't really understand what file you are putting into the mod folders.  When I look at MCreator it appears to be a self installing system using an exe file.  I don't think that will be compatible with MinecraftEDU (and the MCreator website says that it might not work with other mods installed, which MinecraftEDU definitely is, even if the mod folders are empty).

Hi Matt,

MCreator is a program that allows you to make MC mods (without coding).  It has an export function that will write a zip file or a jar file for your mod.  It's designed to work with Forge.  In theory, you should be able to put the zip or jar file into the mods folder and it should work.

I've read here that it was used by Maize to make her letter blocks mod and I've used that mod and it works.

Ah, so you are using MCreator with regular Minecraft, making your mod, then adding it to MinecraftEDU.  Is that right?

I don't know, but hopefully Maize sees this and can help.
