Has anyone been able to get the qcraft mod to work in 1.7.10?  I've got the map loading fine and myself and students can go through it, but none of the lessons can be completed due to mod not working...

From what I know, qCraft was only updated to 1.7.2.  You can try using an install of a previous version to get it working.  Older versions of MinecraftEDU are located in the downloads section of the Minecraftedu website after you log in,

Hey Jim,

Matt is correct, the last version it was created for by the original creators was 1.7.2.

With that said, the mod code was released and there has been some people that have updated it to 1.7.10. I am currently using it in my standard client distribution and it is not causing any issues.

Hi,

I've updated both the mod and curriculum for 1.7.10 and provided Jim with both. This has not been publicly available before but if anyone else wants to try it out, here are the updated world and mod. Notice that you will need both the new world and mod for this to work, earlier versions had problems with wrong item / block names and therefore the curriculum world blocks not loading correctly. Extract the world in your savedworlds folder. Remove old mod from your client & server installations and then place the new mod jar file below in your client & server mods folders. Let me know how it goes!

Yes! This was just verified to be working by Jim yesterday so I'll be adding this into the online mods for 1.7.10 next week. The world in our worlds library will also be updated with the latest world that works with 1.7.10. I'll notify on this thread when this is done.

Done! Qcraft is now available from 1.7.10 mods section and updated world has been added to world library: http://services.minecraftedu.com/worlds/node/34

You can still download 1.6.4 version of the world by going into the world page and then clicking the "Looking for a version of the world that works with MinecraftEdu 1.6.4?" link on top of the description.

Hello all!

I have a slightly different problem.

I'm running the latest version of mcedu 1.7.10 and I have the qCraft mod v. 1.2 server and client side on my machine and client side on my student's machines...same problem for everyone...we log in, get a 1 or 2 second look at the map and our launchers crash...completely shuts mcedu down on any machine trying to run it, including the server...

We really, really, really want to try this!!!

Send through the client.log from the /minecraftedu/logs folder of a client machine, it may point us in the direction of the error.

It sounds like you may be using the wrong mod file.  I had problems like that when I used a zip file instead of the jar file.  I had a hard time locating the correct file and I put a copy here

It is definitely a qcraft crash according to the log file you sent. So I would suggest try Michele's version, as my guess is that you may be using the 1.6 version of the mod. Earlier in this thread is the 1.7.10 version.

Try using a brand new world on the server, does the problem still occur, you may have a 'broken' block somewhere in the world.

Don't download a new world, generate a new world.

If new maps and other maps work, then it is 'broken' block or chunk, send the map through and I will see if I can look at it.
