Hello,

I'm wondering if there's a way to remove potion effects from minecraftEdu in creative mode. I've been having some troubles with some students that become invisible and start trolling others. How can these special effects be disabled in creative mode?

Thanks!

The easiest way would be to set up a redstone clock attached to a command block so that it remove effects of potions etc every time the clock ticks. Use the command /effect @a clear

Someone recently made a mod that disallows items to be selected in the game. Do a search here in this group. The post was just within the last few weeks.

Keep it mind that students who believe that their ability to take advantage of game mechanics in that way are the ones who will continue to seek out new methods after you disable potions. It may be worth taking a step back with all students to put some expectations into place. Disabling potions is one potential solution. Creating a culture where students would not choose to use them at all is another.

seconded Michael. at least in our classes, we try to build cultural understanding and empathy among the students. we had one who would go around and tear other students' creations apart to take their hard-earned blocks from them for himself. once we sat him down and explained why this was unfair, it didn't happen again.

of course, occasionally, the use of the term "ban" doesn't hurt either  ;)
