how to connect 2 child nodes to new root node

I wish to connect 2 child notes to a new (root) node. I attached an image to explain:

do you want to disconnect them from "root node" or keep them there? If you want to disconnect them, just drag them over and drop on to "conclusion" - they will become children of that node. If you want to leave them as children of "root note", then select one of the child nodes, and alt+click on the "conclusion node" - this will create a visual link between the nodes

One issue I have is that on  mindmup 2 when I connect nodes in the manner you have highlighted, it always uses a straight line. Sometimes these lines being straight is not ideal. On the old version you could bend the lines. Is there a way to bend the new connections?
