If you're going to use the HVLP spraygun or the paint-shaker, yes, training is required.
John Klein is the Trainer.

Copied/Pasted from WIKI:

Rules and Etiquette

  • Use parking passes to tag projects that are drying.
  • Move drying projects to the “clean” side to make space for other members as soon as you are able.
  • Avoid using the paint room late night/early morning when the weather is nice. If the neighbors have their windows open the noise of the vent may be obnoxious.
  • Turn on the exhaust fan whenever you are using any chemicals that produce vapors or odor.
  • Leave the fan on for a few minutes after you are done with the room to clear out lingering vapors.
  • Stay out of the dirty side of the room if someone else is actively painting, especially if they are using something that requires lung protection.
  • All paint/chemicals are free for any member to use unless otherwise marked.

Training

Members must be trained to use the HVLP spray gun and the pneumatic paint shaker. Text John to schedule training.

General use of the paint room does not require training.
