I was extremely excited to find this little guy at my front door tonight, or rather on my front door. I'd love for him to hang around! Is there anything I can do to encourage him to stay? I've got lots of shrubs along the front porch that he hopped into but no trees nearby. SE Corvallis.

Moisture, like a potted plant you water frequently, is I think what they need.

A cluster of pots with moist shade between them.

My neighbor had a resident frog and she had fuschias in pots that she watered daily.

Yes, to Nancy's suggestion. They used to live in potted plants, and they often hibernated in winter in a bag of potting soil that was inside a trunk/chest on the shady front porch. (I learned never to stick anything but my hands in the potting soil to avoid hurting their soft bodies.) When the trunk was moved for a few months while painters worked on the place, the frogs went away. They apparently did not like their home to be moved. Great reminder to create another frog habitat at the house I'm moving to.
