Hi all,

37 votes:

31 Yes - 83.8%
2 No - 5.4%
3 - Don't care - 8.1%
1 - Other (comment, make it a JSR immediately)

Voter turnout is pretty darn low considering the size of this community.  That said, we ran this for over a week so it was plenty of time for people to get their opinion across.

I'd say ~83-90% (if you count the I don't cares) is a good enough threshold to submit the proposal.  We'll get started and post a draft back here for discussion *before* we submit.

Questions, comments are all very welcome!

Cheers,
Martijn

Martijn,

Thanks for running the vote. Compared to the 459 members subscribed to the list, 37 really does seem a bit poor, but unless there's a required minimum number like some recent votes (e.g. in Hungary;-) we heard about in politics, I suppose it counts and reflects the number of people who actively discuss in the mailing list (much smaller than the total number of "observers")

Cheers,
Werner

It could also represent how people feel about standards versus open source. Interesting results on a number of fronts though.

Mark.

Hi all,

I also forgot to add that we're trying to be a unanimous community (as much as possible).  So if the 2 "No" votes in particular want to discuss their concerns on this list or to me privately, then please do get in touch, your concerns are important and should be addressed!

Cheers,
Martijn

We'll never be a unanimous community because the community simply too big, but reaching out is a good idea.
