posting messages on here

everytime I try to post a message with some code in it I get a message it cannot be posted, is there a correct way to do this

Post where? To this forum? What code? A code like XYZ123 or JavaScript code or what? What is the exact error message?

hi Bill yes posting javascript code in this forum it wont let me. It just says there was an error posting message

I got it to work Bill I put it all in notepad first then copied and pasted back to this forum

Well, without knowing either the code or the error message, I don't know how any of us can help, and yes, I understand you may not be able to post the code, but at least the error message.

I haven't posted or read the forum directly in years. Once the option was added to opt for email delivery of forum posts, I've done everything by email. Maybe you can post the code you want to post by email? I forget how to go into settings in the forum, but I think one of them is email or not.

Ernst & I and others have posted JavaScript code for years, but I my case, most of it was by email.

hi Beth I got it all sorted out and managed to post the code. All I did was open the firum and click on new conversation, give it a subject and type in my message then copy my javascript code from a word document I had it in. Then click on the remove formatting button and clicked post. It then came back with a popup message saying error posting message and nothing happens.

So then I copied all the code and placed it in notepad then re copied it and pasted back into my message and it was ok. I suspect the remove formatting button did nothing after pasting from Word.

hmmm, I am glad you got it worked out, but i think you have confused us here in this forum.  I never heard of anyone having this difficulty in communicating code in the forum, and/or having to go through all that trouble to share code.  I am confused with what your issue is.  Where are you posting the code??  As Bill asked...what forum??  I don't see the message you are talking about here in this forum?  Anyways, glad you got it worked out.

Das Problem ist die Formatierung in Word . Wenn ich Skripte poste dann habe ich sie von Memento herauskopiert und hier Eingefügt . Das ist nur Text ohne eine Formatierung .

The problem is the formatting in Word. When I post scripts I have copied them from Memento and pasted them here. This is just text with no formatting.
