Syncing ios and android

Recently I bought a Lite license for android, and now I want to move to iOS. I set up my cloud access but libraries only appears in Cloud tab. Is there any way to show it in Local tab? Thanks in advance.

I tried this as well and although I downloaded my libraries they still do not show up on my phone? Any other suggestions?

If you go into the cloud and press the Download icon, and if the library still doesn't appear in My Libraries, there's a bug somewhere, and sup...@MementoDatabase.com should be consulted. Since iOS Memento is newer than others, it probably still has more bugs than the more mature platforms, and maybe basic operations like this are still not ironed out. It's surprising to me.

Hi Bill - Thank you for responding. I deleted the database and re-installed it so I could download libraries again. It looked it downloaded from the cloud but no clue where it went. When I go to "Local" it says "No libraries yet" - I don't see anything labeled "My Libraries" just "Local", "Cloud", "Favorites" and "Menu".

I have a sibling who has an iPhone.  I have reached out to her but she hasn't responded just yet.

I don't have iOS, but on Android and also the desktop edition, the group that libraries fall into by default is called My Libraries. Maybe it's called Local on iOS?

My Libraries is followed by the 20 groups I created myself, then Favorites, then categories that are not really groups per se, but special ones like History, Recycle Bin, Catalog Templates, Cloud Storage, Sync with Google, Settings, Help, and Upgrade. See the attached screenshots with the left-side menu pulled out.

Anyway, My Libraries is where libraries land on all platforms except maybe iOS. On mobile, the libraries you see are all local, and you go to Cloud Storage to see all of them in the cloud. On desktop, it's all together, but if you right-click on a library that hasn't been downloaded, a different menu pops up that allows you to download the library.

You're in the cloud, not in the libraries list screen where downloaded libraries live.

Hi Bill - yes when I open Memento the bottom menu says - LOCAL - CLOUD - FAVORITES - MENU. I've been going into the CLOUD to download my Libraries (I can see them there), when I click on a Library to download it it does show me a "Download" button and I click that and that library says "Downloading Library" - but that's the last I see of it. It's still in the cloud but the option to download it gone - and the library I just downloaded isn't to be found on my phone in any of the menu choices. (I assumed it would be in LOCAL - but it's not.) I did get a brief email from Memento saying I shouldn't have to download it, it should download itself...)

Have you tried rebooting your phone?   The libraries, once downloaded should be available in Local.

Just tried it Beth, no success. Local is still empty :(. Good suggestion though wouldn't I have felt silly if it had worked. :)

Just out of curiosity, have you downloaded a library from the Online catalog?  Which should save to Local.  If that doesn't work either than I think it definitely is a bug and you should reach out to the developer.

Hi Ernest, yes I was able to create a new library - thinking if I had to recreate them I would cry but I could do it. I created a library - added a few items to it and uploaded it to the cloud. It completely disappeared from my phone and it did appear in the cloud list with my other libraries - but I could not redownload it again to my phone and there was again nothing in LOCAL.

I am hoping it is a simple problem. I love this database and don't want to lose it. I even tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it to see if it didn't get a clean install - nothing changed.

I went intro Help on Creating a new library, and I see it has been changed. It no longer matches either the Android user interface or that of the desktop edition! It says there should be tabs on the libraries list screen, and there are none, except in iOS, I guess.

If the Help goes away from what I see on my devices, what the *!#= does that mean? I hope it just means that release 6.0 on Android (no longer a unified mobiles edition!) and 3.0 on the desktop edition will be out soon unifying all our experience matching whatever Help is in the new releases, but I doubt that.

OK finally, I think I have it figured out..... So when transitioning from Android to IPhone This is how it works.

1. All of your libraries will transfer into the CLOUD tab 

2. To get them onto your IPhone 15 Pro go into CLOUD and select the Library you want to add to your phone.

     Press the Library until it asks if you want to download it

     Once downloaded long Press the library again until a menu pops up ... select "Add to Favorites"

     Do this for each Library you want on your phone. 

You will now be able to open the Library on your phone make changes etc and it will be synced to the same library on the cloud.

3. LOCAL - I am not positive but believe this is where you can create or download new libraries and then upload them to the CLOUD and then add them to FAVORITES.  It is not as smooth a process as on Android and the database does not appear as cleanly as it did on Android (but that may be because I got a 15 Pro not a 15 Pro Max so theres a screen size difference.

OK, I'm learning a few things. Maybe you'd like to know.

Though the desktop edition is more or less unified and can have it's own set of Help & Wiki sections, the mobile edition is no longer this way. The iOS use interface is quite distinct from that of Android, and since the wiki hasn't supported iOS separately, I guess it won't until some WikiDev member that uses iPad and/or iPhone decides to create iOS sections in the Wiki.

So I will no longer be bothering forum threads with my misconceptions about how the app should work in iOS. I'm sorry for confusion I have already caused.

iOS releases are also independent of Android releases, so going forward, we should refer to mobile releases as being either Android or iOS.

I'm sorry I was not warned of any of this, and without an iPad or iPhone of my own, I've remained ignorant until now. I thought I was plugged more closely into the developer than I am. Sigh.

Thanks to Patti's post I was able to download my library "Addresses" from the Memento cloud and now have it available on my iPhone in the "Favorites" tab.  My library "Addresses" had been created on my older Android phone and was synced to the Memento Cloud.

I already had some Memento libraries in the "Local" tab on my iPhone.  I was curious what would happen if I put one of these libraries in the "Favorites" tab.  That worked, and the library was still present in the "Local tab.

I am using the free version of Memento on both phones.  The Android phone is not in active use.
