Do you think I would be possible to have VP9 SVC "without" enabling the chrome flags as I don't imagine asking my customers to do it ?

regarding this thread, not sure I have well understood but it seems if we munge the SDP in the right (undocumented) way, it should be possible ?

That's a question for browser developers, not me. You can't enable anything until scalability modes become APIs:

Not before chrome, or other browser vendors enables it. No timeline as of today.

Given the current projects, you are very likely to get AV1 SVC enabled before VP9 SVC, even though several of us are pushing google to enable everything in one go  :-)

Ok alexandre , thx for the intel. I hope we won’t reproduce the situation where AV1 video codec  won’t be support by all main browsers in the same time (remember VP8 and safari…)

Oh you will have the same situation for sure (100%). There is no new mandatory to implement new codec, and in any case everybody implement the spec at the speed they choose. There has never been and likely never be synchronised delivery of web api across browsers be it, webrtc, media, or anything else. I don t know why one would expect it.
