Does anyone know what the difference is between an offer SDP and an answer SDP. In the examples I'm looking at, they look pretty much the same. Is it possible to use an offer SDP as an answer?

Syntactically and semantically they're exactly the same thing, since they're the same "protocol": in context, they're very much different, as an SDP answer needs to match an SDP offer, and an answer always follows an offer. So while you can in theory use an SDP offer from one session as an SDP answer in another, that won't work if the two sessions don't match, e.g., in terms of payload types, codecs, etc. You may want to study a bit how SDP, negotiation and the offer/answer model work.
