Bonnie Ott and I spent 4-hours last Tuesday September 2nd   at the Frederick Watershed northwest of the city of Frederick.  We visited the dirt road that leads to Salamander Tower along with FBI, Reflection and Island ponds.   See:  FBI Pond on September 2, 2025 | FBI Pond -- The autumn leave… | Flickr and Island Pond on September 2, 2025 | Island Pond, Catoctin Mou… | Flickr .  There were not that many butterflies or odonates on the wing, but we did run into a couple nice caterpillars.

Odonates Seen:

Swamp Spreadwings -- 3
Amber-winged Spreadwings -- 2
Violet Dancers -- 15
Blue-fronted Dancer -- 1
Black-tipped Darner -- 1
Eastern Pondhawks -- 2
