I followed in Rick's footsteps and went out to GRSF today.
(couldn't go yesterday which was the better weather day)
It was 66f when I arrived at 9:30 in the vicinity of Point Overlook and the temp quickly climbed to 80. It was sunny for the first two hours then clouded over and started to rain by 1:30. With heavy storms on the radar, I retreated to home.
I posted the better shots of some of the sightings on Inaturalist
my sightings:
1 Mourning Cloak
10 Falcate Orange Tips (males and females)
3 Sleepy Duskywings (1 day too late, rats!)
1 Zebra Swallowtail
3 Henry's Elfins
2 Olympia Marbles, sadly was unable to get a photo
3 Cabbage Whites
6 Silvery Blues
1 White M Hairstreak (again wasn't able to get a photo).
Overall - very dry in GRSF. Water levels low in creeks.
Is it just my imagination or were the Henry's Elfins and Silvery Blues tinier than usual?
