West Kent's Operators

While exploring West Kent on Saturday 10th we found a few operators too, and while in Sevenoaks we stopped off at Vestry Road in Otford where GO Bus & Coach had 5 of their 6 Remaining PVL's including 8802 W454WGH, 8310 X567EGK , 8302 Y817TGH and 8304 Y825TGH parked up in their yards, and Enviro 9010 SK07DZL and a Blue Enigma Volvo Coach UK04BCL were parked up on Vestry Road: https://www.flickr.com/photos/69558134@N05/51303736989/, while over in Westerham we found possibly Kent's most Westerly Operator, SHY Coaches of Westerham who's Neoplan TP06ELL and Plaxton Profile SHY438 new as YN57BWJ, were spotted in their yard on Hartley Road.
Finally on the way back we stopped off alongside the A25 at Brasted near Sevenoaks which was formally home to now departed "Surrey" Operator Skinners Coaches of Oxted (who were based a bit closer to Sevenoaks than Surrey), but is now home to Access Coach Travel, where to our surprise we were granted full permision to do the 3 shots that are avaliable on my Flickr Acount: https://www.flickr.com/photos_user.gne?path=&nsid=69558134%40N05&page=&details=1, and in adition to some older Sprinter vans the following vehicles were in, a Cheetah Vario KE05KXX that duplicates on GO School Route TW8, a Tourismo Coach BN11UGD, an elderly Setra Coach NUI6163 new as P217RUU, and some of their recently aquired Bus fleet including 2 Optare Versa's YJ12PKV and YJ12PKZ, and more surprisingly a Brighton & Hove Buses "Regency Route" Bus Gemini double decker 429 BF12KWY.

Thanks for your report concerning Brighton & Hove BF12 KWY. According to my records it was 423 and was running in Brighton on 7^th July on route 55.

 

It also seems strange that such an early batch of vehicles are being disposed of to an Independent Operator in Kent!!! Normally they only dispose of their vehicles to other Go Ahead companies of late. Brighton and Hove recently received a grant to update vehicles to LEZ standards on the Lewes Road Corridor. What is also interesting is that they do not appear to have received any new vehicles to replace the Regency vehicles.

The Brighton & Hove official fleet list shows 423 (and rest of the 2012 batch) as still owned as at 4 July 2021.

I am advised that this Brighton & Hove vehicle was visiting for maintenance by a contractor who uses the Westerham yard in question.

While exploring West Kent again on Saturday 28th I revisited a few more operators, and while in Sevenoaks I returned to Vestry Road in Otford where GO Bus & Coach had 2 of their 5? Remaining PVL's including 8302 Y817TGH and 8304 Y825TGH, plus Wright Bus 7501 YJ04HLC and 2 Routemasters RML2699 SMK699F and RM1318 CUV318C parked up in their yards, while that Blue Enigma Volvo Coach UK04BCL is still parked up on Vestry Road: https://www.flickr.com/photos/69558134@N05/51409601489/, which I assume may be owned by Access Coach Travel based on the blue paint, and I also passed by their yard while in Brasted and although nobody was around to ask this time, the following vehicles were in, Cheetah Vario KE05KXX, Setra Coaches B9HWC/BF10VCT and TIG3008/KU58XGB , and their 2 recently aquired Optare Versa's YJ12PKV and YJ12PKZ, while that Brighton & Hove Buses Gemini 423 BF12KWY we saw there in July was not there anymore confirming Nicholas's reports.

I also found a few operators on Saturday 11th, and I drove past Brookline Coaches at Ryarsh where their newly aquired Versa Bus MX09YWV and Gemini BJ11EBO were in along with their stored Volvo CityBus F102TML and several Coaches BL14BLC, MB16BLC, BC19BLC and YT17FAF, while over at Nu Venture Buses in Aylesford one of their Newly aquired Enviro's DE410 LJ56VTM was in along with many ALX400's, some Darts, their white Versa and an ex London E200 YX58VYB that was still in the process of being painted, and finally on the way home I drove past Carr's Coaches at Eggerton near Ashford and saw that their Plaxton Coaches 437SHN and YN57OTY were in, along with their long stored Plaxton Panorama RDG308G which is still waiting for a good home.
