Nu-Venture have had two vehicles on loan recently, both of them very unusual for the area. I wasn't able to capture the Cornwall Enviro 500 before it departed, so I was determined to track down this ex-First Potteries Scania Omnicity, in purple "Knotty Bus" livery for use on the service between Stafford and Hanley.

Numbered 901 for its stay with Nu-Venture, YN06 WMG was used on a variety of routes, mostly in the Medway Towns. A more surprising choice, and only possible now the route stays on the main road at Queen Mother Court, was the 156.

It's seen here in a new location for my photographic attempts, turning into Roebuck Road from Watts Avenue, with "South Rochester" in the background (yes, I have cycled between the two, no it wasn't a pleasant experience!), and then again a few minutes later at Queen Mother Court, with Fort Clarence in the background.

Both taken on 10th October.

I belive that Enviro500 mainly got used on Schools around West Malling, and Darren Walker got shots of it even if others didn't.
I do agree with you about Route 156 perhaps not being the most suitable route for a vehicle of this size and length though, when I was in Medway again on Saturday 28th I capture more mundane Nu Venture 863 SK07DXM, at the other end of Roebuck Road as it turned into St. Margerets Road and that looked tight even for an E200, infact I think the short E200 38 IUI2138/MX08ZFA they were using on Routes 173 and 197 would have faired better.

We shouldn't knock the appearance of the Enviro 500 on route 156 as it makes for some very interesting double deck road to travel on!

Just for accuracy, it was the Scania Omnicity that appeared on the 156, rather than the E500 - although I agree the 156 has all the makings of a nice route for a 'decker to escape onto, assuming it fits. Some Monday-Friday journeys on the 142 to Blue Bell Hill are scheduled for 'decker operation, though, and are on my list of things to both ride and photograph.
