Something of a prequel, a photo I took in Hexham, Northumberland 14th May 2018.  Then registered NK08 CHH and carrying Tynedale Links branding.      Now with R&J Smeeth as RHZ1580 in a blue and grey livery.

Only Go-Ahead could make the delightful lines of the Citaro body look so hideous in bright orange!!

Long may Arriva's last two continue in service (3906/8).  So to restore the balance here's one for the record.  Maidstone Bridge last year with "pride" swoops.

If you are as much of a fan of these superb vehicles as myself treat yourself to a holiday in Paphos Cyprus where the entire municipal fleet (c 15 vehicles) is Citaro populated - in an attractive blue livery not dissimilar to "new" Arriva blue.

Postscript:  RHZ1580 noted this afternoon outbound from Maidstone on A229 Loose Road.  Very smart!

"Only Go-Ahead could make the delightful lines of the Citaro body look so hideous in bright orange", Yeah GO Ahead London have tried their hand at that too with the "HereEast" Bus MEC14 BD09ZPU, which sometimes turns up in our Area on Rail Replacement.

Each to their own. When the Citaros were used on the 333, I'm afraid an hour on a plastic seat with the thinnest of moquette covering was not a pleasant experience. It took Mercedes-Benz a long time to offer a decent interior, and I believe it was Wellglade (the parent company of Trent Barton) that was instrumental in achieving a higher standard.  Even some of their continental customers now specify such things - I was amazed to find a wood-effect floor on a municipal Citaro in Bremen in Germany, a country where bus interiors are generally more functional than comfortable.
