My thanks to John Watts for drawing our attention to a fascinating selection of historical pictures on the Facebook page of the Dymchurch & District Heritage Group, including East Kent vehicles at the former Bus Station (both in its 1920s form and after the site was tidied up following wartime bomb damage) and coaches of local operator Sigrist & Collins (including a miniature coach that offered rides around the town's car park for 6d a trip!).

The general site is here
https://www.facebook.com/groups/352305142227075

but you can search for individual subjects with these links:

An earlier posting from 2020 features a Mulliner-bodied Bedford OB of Carey, New Romney (KKE 472) - few photos of that operator have survived.

I was initially wondering where the bus station was, but now I look at the photos, I see that - if I'm looking at them correctly - it was on the site of the now Central Car Park (and presumably explains the substantial Hythe-bound bus stop that remains, too).

The bit that I genuinely have no idea about: where was Piper's Field?

I think Piper's Field must refer to the large caravan site on St Mary's Road just on the west side of the village - still in use and now known as E & J Piper Caravans.

Sorry, David, but 10706/8/10 are all tracking at Folkestone.  Dover don’t have any workings on the 102.

Nicholas

I stand corrected - I should have checked their official allocation - an earlier post alerted me to my error.

All of the CWG double-deckers, plus 59617, appear to be back in service by today, and all of the loans which covered their absence seem to have got back home, except three which remain at Hastings today according to tracking.  Invicta will carry more precise details.
