Blue MASH Nature trail - really?

Anyone know why it has that name rather than MARSH. Site of an old distillery, perhaps...

...has no info, but I did notice that the "Official Website" link found there takes you to a "Trash, Recycling and Yard Trim" page for the county.

I was just about to write in with the same reference from the golf course website. Also note that near the golf course, along Olney-Laytonsville Road just north of the intersection with Fieldcrest Rd., is the history community of Claysville, which is included in the MD Inventory of Historic Places. 

I’ll consider making a note in the Birder’s Guide regarding the name but it would be nice to find a more authoritative reference than the golf course website.
