My niece recorded this in Puerto Rico a few days ago. It certainly appears to be a large raptor, tho there are very few of record for PR.

Looks like a dark morph red-tail. Right at the end you can see some deep red on the upper tail as it flares, and the pattern of the underwing is consistent.
