Light linking override for rendersetup

Hello
I found myself in an impasse.
Maybe someone has a fancy trick to help me out...

Using the newish render setup, I'm trying to override the lighting relationship between some mesh and a light. That was doable with the legacy render layers if I recall... but not sure how one does that with the new system.
Obviously I couldn't find much help online. Some dude posted about it on the Autodesk forum but no one answered his cry for help.

Anyone?

What about duplicating the light and hiding the other.?
