I have managed to track down a copy of the lighting plugin Leuchtkraft, which has been discontinued....

Unfortunately it only comes with a web link for installation instructions, which is as dead as a dodo.

I'm sure it can't be very complex -- in the main folders there's just one .py file, then a folder with four subfolders containing respectively one .ui file, a bunch of UI image files, more .py files, and some ramp (?) .rmp files.

Anyone know where all this stuff needs to be dropped? I'm sure with a lot of trial and error I could figure it out, but hoping someone can save me some time 😜

Thanks!

Hey,

If it is a plug-in then a simple way to have this load is to use maya's module system.

In your Documents/Maya/2020/ folder create a folder called Modules.
Now create a folder structure inside like this:  Leuchtkraft/plug-ins

Copy the python file and the subfolder into the plug-ins folder.

in the Documents/Maya/2020/modules folder create a text file called:   Leuchtkraft.mod
In the text file paste this: + PLATFORM:win64 Leuchtkraft 1.0 ./Leuchtkraft

Restart Maya and if the Leuchtkraft thing is setup as a proper maya plugin, it should show up in the plugin manager (not sure on what name it would show up but you could use the search thing to filter for Leuchtkraft

(I've attached a zip of the folder structure and .mod file based on the name:  Leuchtkraft)

Thanks David.

Unfortunately this didn't work. Does it matter what the contents of the plug-ins folder are named?

They are both named SLiB, which I think was the name of the company that made Leuchtkraft....

Hey, yeah it might actually.

try changing it to SLiB everywhere I put the other name.

If that does not work we can try another way
