Hi all,

Is there a way to transform Maxent model objects that were not created using ENMTools (for instance an ENMevaluation object from ENMeval) for use in ENMTools? I generated several ENMeval SDMs for newt species recently, which I'd love to compare using ENMTools.

Thanks,

Hi Wouter,

I do not think that is possible, but you can ask directly to Dan Warren. That is a problem between packages: they hardly intercommunicate between them.

All the best,

Neftalí

Hey there!  It depends on what you mean by "compare".  If you just mean measuring overlap or breadth, that can be done using the raster files from your Maxent models.  If you mean actually doing the hypothesis tests, that's something that has to be done with the original data so that the program can generate permutations.

Cheers!

Hi Nefta, Dan - thanks for the replies! I meant hypothesis testing. Dan, is it possible to use dismo arguments (for instance to specify regularization multiplier and feature class settings) in enmtools.maxent? That would allow me to use the optimal model settings identified during my earlier ENMeval runs.

Thanks,

It is indeed!  Any extra arguments passed to enmtools.maxent() are passed directly to dismo's maxent function.
