Dear All,

I just did: $$\mathbox{P_r= \frac{G_tG_rP_t\lambda^2}{(4\pi r)^2}}\qquad[\mathrm{W}]$$ and the MathJax implementation within Canvas LMS does not do \mathbox, and renders it in red (Chrome browser)

1) What else can I use besides \mathbox{}
2) Is it MathJax or Canvas?
Many Thanks,
Alan.

I can not find a definition for what \mathbox is supposed to do.  Can you say what output you are expecting?  Do you know a LaTeX package that define it?

The red box is MathJax's indication that it has no definition for the given macro.  It may be possible to define it yourself, but I just don't know what you want it to do.

Davide

Dear Davide,

Thank you for the reply, \mathbox is an \fbox for mathematics, as shown in the screenshot attached (ignore the red). My understanding is that it is a part of amsmaths, the de facto \LaTeXe maths engine, and (I understood) what MathJax was based on.

You have given me several avenues to pursue: I will reply when I get closer!
Thank You.
Alan..
