Dear all,
I want to share with you a project I have been working on based on Steve's Mathbox.

I teach Multivariable Calculus and wanted a web-based, multipurpose, 3d visualization tool that my students and I could use. (Basically, I wanted a 3d version o desmos, if you're familiar with that).

So: http://math3d.org. It's still a work in progress, but you can
  • draw points, lines, arrows, curves, and surfaces
  • animate stuff
  • save and share your visualizations (the URLs can get quite long, since all the settings are stored in the query string)
There are some examples on the GitHub page for this project; here are some of my favorites:

Because I was still developing this project, I only used it a little bit at the end of my multivariable calculus class. But the students really liked it, and I hope you do, too! I look forward to incorporating this more in my multivariable calculus class next year.

I am really interested in making http://math3d.org more useful and more user-friendly, so if you find bugs or have suggestions, please open an issue on Github.

A huge thanks to Steve for making mathbox, and to people in this Google Group for answering questions over the last several months.

Hello Chris,

I've only just discovered this, but you have essentially answered my dream: a mathbox desmos.
acko.net has been inspiring me and my students in conceptualizing esoteric math concepts with dynamic visualizations, and I have not the technical acumen for modifying Steve's work to our specific purposes. I am eager to explore your math3d tool, and hope to contact you further once I have more experience with it.

With great thanks and admiration,

Zack

This is great Chris!
I'm really thankful for this, as it allows me to share mathbox with those who may not be too technically inclined.
Thank you.

quick question, does your website still retain the ability to use time in the definition of equations?
cheers

Sure, sliders probably do what you want. See https://www.math3d.org/sliders_intro and press the play button on one of the sliders.
