ASTM E399 - Fraacture toughness test

Dears, 

i have a query regarding this standard ASTM E 399.

i dnt understand that what should i take the sample size W. ie. width of the sample to start the test should be how much?

i want to conduct this test on SS 410. and the sample i want to select is SENB.

please help me understand this standard.
