Is Joint design is an factor for Ultrasonic testing?

 Can different weld joint design need different calibration block ?

Please provide refrence litrature.

Refer ASME Sec V article 4, Table T-421, weld configurations to be examined is an Essential variable.

Hence you need different calibration blocks for different joint geometries.
